Ocean Photography: Accidental Series

I take my camera every time I go to the beach. It’s habit now. It makes my people-watching a tad bit less creepy… or maybe the opposite, I’m not sure yet. I do, though end up being fascinated with the mood of the water. Every time I go the water seems to invite playfulness, or serenity, or reflection, or silence, or challenge.  When the waves are dark and ominous, they are met by the surfers and body boarders and people just running into them with no athletic aim. When it is still and constant, people stand there and stare out into the distance, I can only imagine wondering some great thing or thinking about that fight they just had, or God, or family, or loneliness.  I never intended to point my cameras overhead at the water or waves, but every time I went I ended up doing it. People were loving these pictures and now I’ve began noticing possibly why. I think it’s because the ocean has character that is playful, and powerful, and deep, and loud, and changing. These all came from either Huntington Beach, Long Beach, Seal Beach, or Newport Beach. I hope you enjoy my photography collection of the Character of Water. This is my best of Ocean Photography
